Introducing IMPACT²
The IMPACT² (“Impact Squared”) is THIEAUDIO’s latest technological innovation to change the personalized audio industry. IMPACT² is a new subwoofer solution consisting of two 10mm composite diaphragm drivers arranged in an isobaric design. The addition of another 10mm subwoofer significantly enhances the power and texture of the bass, while our in-house isobaric chamber design keeps the frequency and pressure constant. This means you can enjoy better quality bass without sacrificing tonal integrity.
Latest Gen Sonion Driver
The Hype 2 utilizes two of the latest iterations of Sonion drivers. The 2356 and E25ST have been well established and used by many of the largest brands in the IEM industry. The latest generation of these drivers, the P2356HF/4 and E25ST001/D have been selected for the Hype 2 after extensive testing with different driver types.
The updated P2356HF/4 has significantly enhanced output with reduced THD, allowing higher resolution and clarity compared to similar BA drivers of its class. Similarly, the E25ST001/D super tweeter provides excellent tone while effectively extending the treble at an audible range until 18kHz. This super tweeter has excellent upper treble performance like the beloved electrostatic (EST) drivers, but with a smoother and more coherent tone.
Balanced Tuning
Keeping in tradition with THIEAUDIO’s commitment to tonal balance, the Hype 2 features the classic and beloved studio-monitor-esque tuning. The bass is powerful and thunderous, thanks to IMPACT² , but well controlled by keeping a tight 200Hz bass shelf. This means that the mids are flat and neutral, which accurately represents the tone of studio monitors used by professional audio engineers. The treble is respectfully tamed throughout the whole range, never peaking, but also never dipping as to maintain a balance between detail retrieval and pleasant listening. The overall tonality will be familiar to THIEAUDIO fans who have enjoyed the upper-end THIEAUDIO series, while newer audiences will be introduced to the true definition of an in-ear monitor.

Needed a pair of IEMs as a backup and for everyday listening, within 300$.
Compared to Clairvoyance and Monarch MK1 - these fall somewhere in between: a musical monitor that is still fun and engaging. This pair is least expensive way to try new double dynamic driver setup, which sounds impressively good, outperforming both in Bass details and quality. But, obviously, not as good when it comes to details in Mids and especially Highs: you can't beat EST drivers in their effortless extension and lushness, yet these are still impressively capable.
You will really struggle to find any negatives in these.
Perfect for Electronic music.
Compared to Hype 4, these two are slightly different all together: Hype 2 is just a touch smoother and more fun, less fatiguing. Hype 4 has slightly more resolution and details and is more analytical.
Stock Cable sounds really good: able to push a lot of details and keep everything sounding well rounded. Looks and feels fantastic. Perfect match.
Both stock silicone and foam Ear Tips are high quality, comfortable and highly resolving. Perfect match.
Larger storage case is really the perfect size. And it looks good. Included microfiber cleaning cloth is always a nice touch.
I have tested these with stock Cable and Ear Tips on 3.5mm out on MacBook; with Apple 3.5mm dongle and iPhone. Everything stock, out the box, sounds fantastic: resolving and fun. Then I pushed them a bit further with DSD 11.2MHz and PCM 32/384kHz files, DSP off, High Gain, with 4.4mm balanced 4N silver Cable, which has opened up and increased the size of soundstage; increased clarity; increased amount of details and overall made sound more balanced, smoother and effortless. Those two file formats are where magic truly begins and even on High Gain these IEMs did not even stutter - smooth and effortless all the way.
Very happy to see Shallow Recessed Sockets: these are much better and stronger than usual Flush Sockets. However, I wish they used stronger and more durable Deep Recessed Sockets.
Build quality is superb, high gloss shells, metal nozzles, neat bass port opening.
Faceplates are simple but are definitely an art: I can't stop looking at them, mesmerizing.
These have smaller shells than Clairvoyance and in my opinion fit better and deeper.
Hype 2 is a perfect gift for someone special or a friend you want to get into Hi-Res IEMs on a tight budget.
